On April 9, China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited issued a statement on its official website titled “Statement on Preventing Fraud by Criminals Using Our Name.”
According to the notice, recently, criminals have been impersonating COSCO Shipping on international TikTok platforms and livestreams by fabricating a so-called “cross-border e-commerce export business.” These scammers have used forged business licenses and fake employee identities to lure the public into adding fake “operation mentors,” ultimately funneling them to third-party fraudulent platforms.
In response to this suspected criminal activity, COSCO Shipping has reported the matter to public security and judicial authorities for investigation and legal action.
The company solemnly reminds the public that it has never conducted any “cross-border e-commerce export business” on the mentioned platforms. COSCO urges the public to remain vigilant, enhance their awareness of fraud prevention, and avoid falling victim to scams. If anyone encounters a scam or has relevant information, they are advised to report it to the police immediately.
