"Jacy Qiu: Digitalization + Ecosystem Accelerates Transformation in the International Logistics Industry"
In recent years, against the backdrop of the rapid development of the global digital economy, China’s cross-border e-commerce industry has grown quickly. As an essential pillar of international trade, the international logistics industry faces both tremendous growth opportunities and the critical challenge of digital transformation.
In 2021, Jacy Qiu, Chairman and CEO of JCtrans, based on his experience with industry digitalization and insights into the pain points of the international logistics industry, founded JCtrans. His team adopted the "Technology + Ecosystem" dual-drive philosophy, actively exploring and implementing innovative strategies. Through concrete actions, JCtrans provides specific case studies and practical experience to support the transformation and upgrading of the logistics industry, bringing real value to customers through technological integration and ecosystem cooperation.
Jacy Qiu holds both bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. His experience studying in Silicon Valley, USA, helped broaden his global perspective. After graduation, he joined JD's management trainee program, where he decoded the underlying mechanics of international supply chains through hands-on experience in cross-border e-commerce. Jacy Qiu said, "My technical background emphasizes systematic thinking, while my e-commerce experience showed me the potential of logistics as a global connective force."
To continually enhance the company’s technological innovation capabilities, Jacy Qiu led JCtrans in acquiring the "JCtrans" brand with a unique strategic vision. Over four years, the company innovatively developed a series of digital products to effectively address pain points at different stages: developing a self-built inquiry system that uses big data algorithms, achieving "3-minute demand release and 1-minute quote retrieval" for efficient matching, processing over 14,000 cross-border logistics requests per month, and creating more than 2.2 million business opportunities annually. They also launched efficient, low-cost, and secure cross-border payment settlement services with partners such as banks and payment institutions, solving payment and transaction performance issues. JCtrans developed a full-chain risk management ecosystem based on "qualification review, early warning response, and credit empowerment," helping to resolve business disputes between members and reduce risks and losses in collaboration, establishing a trustworthy cooperation system for freight forwarding companies. Additionally, they implemented one-stop services like online customs declaration that can compress traditional customs clearance processes to within 24 hours, and a global logistics tracking system that ensures transparent and traceable cargo trajectories, reducing performance disputes by over 30%.
JCtrans's digital platform focuses on the challenges of the "digital trust system" and "smart opportunity engine" in the freight forwarding industry. Through data-driven collaborative networks, the platform supports international freight forwarders with foundational infrastructure. Jacy Qiu believes the core value of a digital platform lies in "security," "connectivity," and "empowerment." "Only by building a deeply connected digital trust network based on the platform can we help global freight forwarding companies reach the international stage and make freight forwarders a reliable force in cross-border collaboration and transactions."
It is reported that the platform currently has 23,700 paid companies and 660,000 registered users. Over 11,000 paid members will benefit from more than 2.2 million business opportunities facilitated by JCtrans in 2024. From 2022 to 2024, JCtrans processed 4.1 billion RMB in cross-border logistics settlements, and through invoice verification and payment interactions with users, it helped domestic freight forwarding companies achieve online bank settlements for sea freight expenses surpassing 5 billion USD.
"Digital transformation is not about replacing the traditional; it’s about reconstructing the cooperative ecosystem with technology. We aim not only to be a trusted platform for freight forwarding business matchmaking but also to be a driver of industry progress. Our mission is to ensure that every freight forwarding company can find reliable partners on JCtrans, helping global freight forwarding businesses remain profitable and collaborate with them to build the most trusted international logistics transaction platform," said Jacy Qiu. In the wave of industrial transformation, where the digital economy and the real economy are deeply integrated, JCtrans looks forward to partnering with global freight forwarding companies and continuing to innovate and pursue a mutually beneficial development path.
