With the inauguration of its new warehouse in Denain, northern France, Maersk has launched its first-ever warehouse in the country. Situated in one of Europe’s major logistics hubs, the 75,000-square-meter facility is part of the GLP Park Denain complex, which spans approximately 100,000 square meters. The warehouse is now fully operational, providing fulfillment services to leading global e-commerce enterprises.

Located near Lille in the Hauts-de-France region, the logistics complex lies in France’s third-largest logistics employment area, with around 500,000 residents living within 30 minutes of the site. Its strategic location boasts easy access via 12 motorways and rail connections, positioned at the intersection of the A2 and A21 highways (109 km from Brussels, 198 km from Paris), and along the Scheldt River (Escaut Canal).

According to Cohonner, Maersk’s Regional Head of Contract Logistics in Europe, “The opening of this new facility marks a significant milestone for Maersk in France, elevating our contract logistics and warehousing capabilities in this critical European market to a whole new level. We are delighted to support our key client here, as the solutions we have developed together will benefit both them and their end customers.”

The new warehouse has earned a BREEAM Very Good certification and is equipped with 85 docking doors, 11.40-meter beam height, a floor load capacity of 5 tons per square meter, and a 35-meter truck yard. It features separate flows for heavy goods and light vehicles, as well as automated docking systems.

With the opening of this French facility, Maersk now offers warehousing and distribution services in 15 European countries beyond its global warehouse network. This comes on the heels of its Fredericia warehouse in Denmark, which began operations in the summer of 2024.
