On November 16, the departure of the vessel Heyuan from the Tianjin-Hebei Container Terminal at Huanghua Port in Hebei Province marked the official launch of the Huanghua Port–US West Coast container shipping route.

This route is Northern China’s first international container liner service operating on an express model to the US West Coast. It establishes the fastest maritime corridor from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and even the entirety of Northern China to the US West Coast.

The Huanghua Port–US West Coast container route is operated by Hede (Hong Kong) International Shipping Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hebei Port Group. The route plans to deploy five vessels, running on a weekly schedule with stops at Huanghua Port, Shanghai Port, and Los Angeles Port. From departure at Huanghua Port, the voyage to Los Angeles Port takes only 16 days.

The cargo for this route mainly consists of cross-border e-commerce goods, covering an economic belt of 25 counties in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The cargo includes 25 categories and 138 varieties, enabling regional products to access overseas markets.

The route highlights differentiated express services. Compared to US West Coast routes from nearby ports, this service can shorten transport times by 7 to 9 days. It reduces ocean freight costs for export enterprises in Northern China while better meeting the high-efficiency demands of the cross-border e-commerce industry. Furthermore, compared to previous land transport to Shanghai Port for US West Coast routes, this service significantly lowers shipping costs for inland enterprises and offers a new pathway to global markets.

As the first northern port to open an express route to the US West Coast, Huanghua Port gains a competitive edge. The launch of this route is expected to attract more cargo to Huanghua Port, further consolidating and expanding its market share. Additionally, this route enables goods from Northern China to reach the US West Coast more efficiently, strengthening economic and trade cooperation with the United States. It will also foster internal collaboration and exchanges within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas, driving coordinated regional economic development.
