On December 18, 2024, Deputy Director Yang Changyong of the Belt and Road Construction Promotion Center under the National Development and Reform Commission, along with his delegation, visited JCtrans (hereinafter referred to as “JCtrans”) for research and guidance. The visit aimed to gain a deeper understanding of JCtrans's innovative practices in the international logistics sector and its support and contributions to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
At the discussion session, JCtrans Chairman and CEO Jacy Qiu extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided a detailed introduction to the company’s development, platform offerings, and global impact in the logistics industry.
Since its inception in 2003, JCtrans has been dedicated to building the most trusted international logistics trading platform. The platform integrates logistics resources, facilitates online and offline transactions, and fosters cross-border collaborations. Over the past three years, JCtrans has entered a critical phase of rapid growth, implementing bold reforms and innovations. The company has upgraded its branding to align with the digital era, expanded its global market presence, and swiftly gained market share through internet-based operations. As a result, JCtrans has become a leading membership-based brand in China and has begun competing with established companies in regions like the U.S. and the Middle East. During this period, the platform introduced key features such as big data analytics for business opportunities and AI-powered assistants, enhancing efficiency and helping member companies seize new opportunities. These advancements have solidified JCtrans's industry leadership and laid a strong foundation for its future growth.
JCtrans’s core business revolves around its international logistics trading platform, addressing pain points such as information asymmetry, transaction security, and service efficiency among freight forwarders. The platform boasts over 66,000 registered users and 11,000 paying members from 179 countries, with international members accounting for 78%. Many Southeast Asian members play a pivotal role in supporting the Belt and Road Initiative through reliable logistics services. Annually, the platform generates over 2.2 million business opportunities and hosts major industry events to foster cross-regional collaboration and business expansion.
In terms of service models, JCtrans has developed innovative inquiry models, including order-taking and bidding mechanisms, enabling members to flexibly participate based on their needs. The platform has also built a robust credibility system, incorporating risk alerts, strict qualification reviews, dispute resolution mechanisms, and collaborations with professional arbitration institutions. These measures ensure transaction security, helping members avoid over 2,200 potential risks annually and preventing financial losses of approximately 132 million RMB. The platform achieves an 84% success rate in resolving disputes among its members.
Furthermore, JCtrans provides value-added services in payment settlements, insurance, and digital customs clearance. Collaborating with financial institutions like Bank of China, Standard Chartered, and LianLian International, JCtrans meets diverse payment needs. Its partnerships with leading insurers such as PICC and Ping An enable efficient online insurance services for cargo. Additionally, JCtrans has streamlined customs clearance in key global and domestic ports, including the U.S., Canada, Europe, Qingdao, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.
Deputy Director Yang highly praised JCtrans's business model, technological innovations, and credibility system. He encouraged the company to leverage its resources in the international logistics sector, deepen collaboration with Belt and Road countries, and make greater contributions to the initiative. The delegation also provided valuable suggestions for JCtrans’s future development.
JCtrans remains committed to its mission of “helping global freight forwarding enterprises achieve sustainable profitability.” The company actively responds to the Belt and Road Initiative by exploring emerging markets along the route, strengthening partnerships with logistics companies in these regions, and establishing a broader international logistics service network. As a central hub connecting global logistics providers, JCtrans aims to empower freight forwarders to conduct efficient cross-border operations, contributing to the digital transformation of the global logistics industry.
